DENVER, July 27 — Carestream Health, Inc., introduced a new software solution that facilitates the integration of clinical information from RIS and PACS platforms with imaging modalities using standards such as DICOM, HL7, and XML at the annual meeting and exposition of the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) organization.
CARESTREAM Extensible Integration Software (EIS) creates a more efficient radiology workflow since it acts as a gateway among systems that cannot directly communicate with each other. As an example, it can enable a legacy, non-DICOM RIS to exchange information with imaging modalities to create modality worklists that are a key ingredient for accurate data exchange and enhanced productivity.
The new software is offered as an option with CARESTREAM RIS/PACS and digital imaging solutions and will be available worldwide by the end of September.
New volume-based pricing plans make EIS solutions affordable for a wide range of healthcare providers, including smaller hospitals, imaging centers and orthopedic practices.
CARESTREAM Extensible Integration Software is designed to support a variety of network environments. This offering includes hardware, software and installation services.
