ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 13 — A new long-length imaging system is now available for the KODAK DIRECTVIEW DR 7500 System, Carestream Health, Inc., announced today. Equipping this versatile digital radiography system with fully automated positioning and automatic image stitching allows healthcare providers to achieve a highly productive workflow for long bone and spine exams, as well as general radiology studies. It also eliminates the need for CR-based long-length imaging.
This vertical imaging system can capture and stitch up to five exposures. The imaging system’s tube tilting method can improve image alignment and reduces space requirements for the x-ray room. Once the region of interest is defined, the system calculates the required imaging sequence, positions the DR 7500 system, and allows the technologist to easily acquire the images.
The stitching software, which resides on the DR console, creates nearly seamless images that are 17 inches (43 cm) wide and up to 64.5 inches (164 cm) long. The fully automated software eliminates the need to orient or align images and incorporates basic orthopaedic measurement tools. Fully automated positioning requires use of a patient stand that supports up to 600 pounds.
The CARESTREAM DR Long-Length Imaging System for DR 7500 is now available for order worldwide. Existing DR 7500 users can upgrade their systems to include this capability. The latest version of Carestream Health’s DR operating and image processing software is required for an upgrade.
