DENVER, July 27 — Carestream Health, Inc., announced that its newest PACS platform that contains upgrades to its native and integrated advanced clinical applications is now available worldwide.
These optional advanced clinical applications provide substantive workflow advantages since on-site and remote users can access applications from a single unified virtual desktop. This eliminates the need for facilities to purchase and maintain multiple systems, while users gain added productivity since they don’t need to travel between several dedicated workstations.
CARESTREAM PACS offers a Web-based, thin-client architecture that equips users to access the preferences and tools they need for diagnostic and clinical reading anywhere, anytime. Native applications for the platform include 3-D, vessel and cardiac analysis along with specialized tools for evaluating mammography images. Advanced integrated applications— including orthopedic pre-operative planning and templating, image fusion and virtual colonoscopy—launch through an action button for a seamless integration from the desktop. Carestream Health provides concurrent user licenses for native and integrated applications to deliver added convenience and lower cost to healthcare providers.
Enhancements to the advanced clinical applications available with the newest CARESTREAM PACS include:
Mammography - Display of multiple vendor images at the same physical size for more accurate comparisons; scaling of breast tissue to fit the viewing window; improved skinline detection that includes the pectoral muscle; support of vendor specific look-up-tables for improved image display; unread image alert so users can be confident that all images in the case were read; integration of IBM Sametime® for improved radiologist/technologist communication; and faster loading of images through enhanced workstation software.
OrthoView™ pre-operative planning and templating – Improved fracture management; a new limb deformity correction module; total shoulder replacement planning; new scoliosis assessment tools; and additional measurement tools.
Image FusionXD™ – A complement to Image Fusion7D™, this application includes features such as the ability to view up to three time points simultaneously; concurrent viewing of PET, CT and overlay views; reading of minimum, maximum or average standard uptake value for any region of interest; and crosshairs that are bound across views and time points.
Viatronix V3D-Colon® - Features include electronic cleansing; translucency tool; missed region tracking for 100% coverage; undistorted dissected segments; dynamically adjustable field of view for 3-D fly-through; audit trail and improved reporting.
The newest CARESTREAM PACS delivers efficient support of a multi-site workflow community through a global worklist and central database, a single desktop with integrated clinical applications, and dynamic streaming to expedite remote reading and transcription.
